A PCA Congregation on Lookout Mountain
We aspire to make what the Bible reveals about God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit believable and beautiful in our worship of God, our nurture of one-another, and in our witness in words and deeds to our community.
What Should You Expect?
You’ll discover a simple worship service in a rural setting on Lookout Mountain.
Our Beliefs
Our central belief is God sent his Son, Jesus, into the world to rescue us from our sin and Satan and bring us into his family. This is life-changing news.
Christianity calls us to joyfully embrace beliefs that challenge the norms of culture but that’s the beauty of it! We’re invited into the bigger story of God’s redeeming work to restore our broken world. We believe:
- The Bible is true.
- The Triune God created us in his image.
- Every human is a rebel.
- God saves rebels.
- The church is central to the Christian life.
- God enjoys answering our prayers.
- The Holy Spirit enables us to obey God.
- Christ will make all things new.
Rock Creek Fellowship is a part of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). We are an evangelical church in the Presbyterian and Reformed tradition. For a fuller explanation of what we believe, see the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms.
Our Values
As a congregation that our Savior has assembled and breathed to life, we want the following values to be integral to our Worship, Nurture, and Witness:
Generosity: We want to be characterized both individually and collectively by a surprising generosity of life and wallet. In other words, we want to live by giving ourselves away; our time, our abilities, our money, and our hearts–all in response to the monumental self-giving of our Savior for us.
Connectedness: We want to be characterized by a burden-bearing, one-anothering love where all the members of our community know they are indispensable links in a chain, deeply connected to one another and to Christ.
Prayer/Scripture Driven: We want to be characterized by dependent prayer and the God-breathed words of life found in the Scriptures so that we are sure to be animated by the very life of Christ in all that we do.
Outward Faced: We want to be characterized by a posture that is always looking beyond ourselves to bring the good news of our Savior’s reconciling mercies in both word and deed to folks in our community and throughout the world through evangelism, missions, church-planting and mercy ministries.
Family Oriented: We want to be characterized by the warmth, safety, and acceptance of a family for the married, single, divorced, or widowed. And we want to be a place where children are clearly prized as members of the family of faith. Our hope is that families will thrive in our midst as they are nourished by Christ’s word and Spirit.
